SoundExchange is fanning out across panels, workshops, and showcases to distribute more than $145,000 unclaimed digital performance royalties to artists and copyright holders (usually record labels) who are attending this week’s CMJ event in New York City.

The non-profit performance rights organization has released this list of showcasing artists and pre-registered labels at CMJ who are owed digital performance royalties, but have not registered to receive them.

THE FULL LIST: http://bit.ly/SXatCMJ2010

SoundExchange representatives will be on site in the CMJ Artists’ Lounge all week to explain SoundExchange registration and royalties.

Artists, labels, and press can also find SoundExchange staff at the following CMJ events:

CMJ Artists’ Lounge: Tuesday, Oct 19 – Saturday, Oct 23, beginning at 2pm daily

The PureVolume House, 7 Extra Place (between Bowery and 1st Street)

SoundExchange Workshop : Tuesday, Oct 19, 12:30pm-1:45pm

NYU’s Kimmel Center, 60 Washington Square South, Room 905

Women in Music Champagne Mixer: Friday, Oct 22, 11am-1pm

NYU’s Kimmel Center, 60 Washington Square South, Room 405
SoundExchange also has money for unregistered artists and labels who aren’t on the official CMJ schedule. To collect these unclaimed royalties, artists/copyright holders must register via http://bit.ly/SXRegistration or stop by any of our CMJ events for more information. Membership with SoundExchange is always 100% free. Visit www.SoundExchange.com for more info.

SoundExchange is required by law to collect royalties from Internet radio, satellite radio, cable TV music channels, and other digital streaming services on behalf of artists and copyright holders (like ASCAP, BMI and SESAC do for songwriters and publishers), but can’t send out the checks without the necessary information. Thousands of artists and labels haven’t yet registered, and millions in royalties are currently unclaimed. Together, we can help everyone get paid when they get played.
