Artist Spotlight: Animal Years

Artist Spotlight: Animal Years

New York-based indie rock band Animal Years visited with SoundExchange earlier this week at the Gibson Showroom in Washington, D.C. prior to headlining a concert at the Black Cat music venue.

The band, made up of members Mike McFadden (Lead Vocals and Guitar), Matthew Indellicati (Lead Guitar), Anthony Spinnato (Drums), and Anthony Saladino (Bass), chatted with SoundExchange about their musical influences — ranging from James Jamerson to Donovan to Chuck Berry. Animal Years also performed two songs from their brand new album, Sun Will Rise, which is out now.

Following the intimate conversation and acoustic performance, the band was excited to start registering to receive royalties due to them when their music is played on digital radio.
Speaking about SoundExchange, the band said,

“We had a terrific experience talking with SoundExchange and we were pumped to play two songs from our new album Sun Will Rise. Everyone we met on the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating — we are thrilled to become members of the organization. Thanks to SoundExchange for looking out for the rights of all artists. We look forward to visiting again!”
