SoundExchange Reveals Top Streamed Tracks on Digital Radio for First Half of 2015

Curious as to what the top streamed tracks on digital radio were in the first half of 2015? Look no further! The Top 20 Streamed Tracks (see the image below) from the first half of the year are based on data received from digital radio services in the United States (including Internet radio, satellite radio and cable radio).

Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars’ mega-hit “Uptown Funk” took the number one slot, with powerhouse tracks from Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, The Weeknd and Ellie Goulding rounding out the Top Five. Nick Jonas holds two spots on the list (“Chains” and “Jealous” at #8 and #14 respectively) and Sam Smith’s 2014 power ballad “Stay With Me” shows its staying power at #18.

The race to be crowned this year’s most streamed track on digital radio will most certainly come down to the wire among artists such as Drake, who is currently enjoying yet another hit with “Hotline Bling,” Justin Bieber, who recently debuted his highly anticipated new track “What Do You Mean?,” The Weeknd, who broke out in a major way with multiple hits this year, and Taylor Swift, who is riding a string of number one songs from 1989.

It’s a strong statement for an artist or individual track to make it to the top of these digital radio charts. It is a testament to their staying power and the main reason that these charts serve as a real indicator of an artist or track’s true success.

SoundExchange’s full 2015 year-end charts will be released this spring 2016.
