More than 3,000 digital radio services rely on the statutory license to access any commercially available sound recording.
Non-interactive digital streaming services — such as Internet radio, satellite radio, and cable TV music services — are eligible to use the statutory license, giving them access to any commercially available sound recording.
The royalties are paid by digital radio for their use of sound recordings and are distributed by SoundExchange to recording artists and record labels.
