Title: Tech Strategy and Planning Analyst

Position Summary:

At SoundExchange, we have re-architected and rebuilt our core enterprise software platform to support our rapidly growing and evolving business.  Our new software platform is a set of cloud-native, federated systems that are highly scalable, accurate, and modular, leveraging both custom-built and 3rd party components.  We are seeking a technical analyst to join our team and to provide support for the operation of the Technology Department.  An ideal candidate is experienced with supporting Engineering, Product, and IT Ops leaders and has experience with financial administrative tasks. 

The Technical Analyst will work closely with the Tech Strategy and Planning department to identify overall areas of process improvement and best practices in how we manage our project data, financial reporting, and vendor contracts.  The ideal candidate is a tech savvy person that is well organized and enjoys data analysis.

Essential Functions:

  • Pull data from multiple sources and organize it into a reportable format for different audiences.
  • Automate data reporting by developing standard templates and implementing BI tools.
  • Ensure key milestones, roadmaps, and action items are updated appropriately across the Technology Department.
  • Manage the Technology Department’s onboarding process by coordinating new employee ramp-up sessions.
  • Ensure actuals and forecasts are updated regularly and perform an analysis on the organization’s capacity.
  • Maintain financial reporting processes, including capex/opex determinations and placed in service analysis, for the Technology Department.
  • Manage vendor licenses, purchase orders, and contract renewals, and support annual budget processes.
  • Provide project reporting that can be understood by multiple stakeholders at different levels throughout the organization.
  • Support improvement of processes and best practices as identified for IT Ops, Engineering, and Product department leaders. 

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSAs):

  • Strong experience with excel
  • Well organized and detail-oriented person that can stay on top of multiple simultaneous tasks.
  • Project management skills to identify an issue, develop a plan, and drive the plan to completion.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications and presentation skills.
  • Experience with budget management and financial analysis.
  • Experience with Jira, confluence, power-bi 

Required Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience:  

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2-5 years of experience in IT, project management or as an analyst.
  • Experience in the music royalty processing and/or fintech industry is a huge plus.

ADA Specifications:

  • This position requires the ability to remain in a stationary position (standing and/or seated) all of the time.
  • This position requires the ability to spend all of the time viewing computer monitors.

Travel Requirements:

  • This position requires overnight domestic travel less than 25% of the time (for non-DC based employees).
  • Anticipated travel will be by car, air, and/or train.
