Title: Specialist, Brand Marketing
Department: Brand Marketing 
Job Location: Washington, DC or New York City, NY (remote, candidate must reside in the Washington, DC or New York area).

Position Summary:

The Brand Marketing team curates more than 50 events and activations annually to drive engagement, lead generation, and recognition within the music industry. Our dynamic team is seeking a marketer with an events and creative background to support management, coordination, and timely execution of brand experiences. SoundExchange events range from artist showcases and brand activations at festivals to comprehensive brand campaigns, all designed to engage our community of over 700,000 creators. You will lead cross-functional initiatives, support campaigns, and provide strategic guidance to achieve marketing objectives. The ideal candidate will thrive on taking ownership of their projects while leveraging the power of collaboration to elevate the quality of work. This position will report to the Senior Manager of Brand Marketing.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for assisting with the day-to-day execution of marketing initiatives, project timelines, and a brand activity calendar of over 50 partnerships and events.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of comprehensive marketing strategies and plans to support business goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal and cross-functional teams to develop compelling marketing content, including pitch decks, graphics, copy, and videos, that resonates with target audiences.
  • Use analytics tools to review performance metrics such as engagement, conversion rates, and trends; report findings and recommendations to management
  • Identify new opportunities and develop persuasive proposals, for management review, that promote SoundExchange artist programs and meet department goals.
  • Serve as point of contact for creative agency partners and key vendors. Manage payment flow to ensure work is paid and deliverables are met.
  • Draft effective creative briefs and ensure brand consistency across creative development.
  • Coordinate with design teams to bring a piece of marketing content from concept to completion when necessary.
  • Traffic creative and approvals with high-level staff.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer insights to identify opportunities for growth and optimization.
  • Stay up to date on the relevant industry events and emerging programs. 
  • Support the Brand Marketing team with administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, preparing reports and recaps, and tracking marketing/promotional campaigns as needed.
  • Ad hoc support on invoicing, pacing and budget management across marketing initiatives.
  • Serve as Production Assistant onsite for tentpole events and activations. Support the Industry Relations team with day-of logistics and talent needs.
  • Provide ad hoc support to the Industry Relations team, including but not limited to project management materials, reporting, and presentations.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSAs):

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university (or applicable experience) 
  • 3 - 5 years in integrated marketing, ad agency, digital marketing, event production or related role.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on storytelling and brand messaging.
  • Familiarity with graphic design software and multimedia production tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Adobe Premiere).
  • Positive attitude, enthusiasm, and a shared commitment to the mission of SoundExchange
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)  
  • Digital/Media Sales experience is a plus

ADA SPECIFICATIONS: 

  • This position requires the ability to remain in a stationary position (standing and/or seated) more than half the time 
  • The person in this position may need to move about the corporate office(s) more than half the time 
  • The person in this position must be able to maneuver (lift, move, carry, slide, etc.) 15 – 40 lbs. 
  • This position requires the ability to spend more than half the time viewing computer monitors 
  • The person in this position must be able to identify and distinguish between colors all the time 

Travel Requirements:

  • This position requires overnight domestic travel (less than 35% of the time) 
  • Anticipated travel will be by car, air, and/or train (depending on location) 

 

PAY RANGE:  $91,000 - 105,000
