What’s the difference between registering with SoundExchange and being a member of SoundExchange?

Registering with SoundExchange is required to claim and receive your domestic U.S. statutory royalties. Becoming a “member” enables you to grant SoundExchange a mandate to claim your royalties internationally. SoundExchange has more than 50 collection agreements with counterparts in 35 countries worldwide. When your music is played in their territory, they send your royalties to us, and we send them to you.
