When he’s not on dad duty as a father of six, country singer/songwriter Walker Hayes is busy building a skyrocketing career. Following the release of his third album, Country Stuff: The Album, the Mobile, Alabama-native has been on the road, bringing his growing number of fan-favorite songs to audiences nationwide.

Hayes is a hitmaker, striking gold with “Fancy Like.” The song has topped every sales and streaming chart since its release, spending a collective six months and counting at the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Country Songs Chart and hitting the top five on the Billboard Hot 100. The irresistible tune was certified RIAA 2X Platinum after just five months, and the track gave Hayes his first GRAMMY Award nomination as an artist for Best Country Song.

Propelled by the TikTok dance Hayes made to the song with his teenage daughter, “Fancy Like” has been used over half a million times on the app, with the video racking up over 32 million views and appearing in a national Applebee’s ad campaign. Written in response to fans thinking Hayes’ life was more lavish than their own, “Fancy Like” connected audiences across genres, and spawned collaborations with Kesha and Carin Leon.

Billboard praised his “personal, soul-bearing storylines; rolling rhymes; and Macklemore-like cadence,” while the Washington Post wrote, “Hayes has broken into mainstream by sounding different.”

One of the first indications of his unique sound was “You Broke Up With Me” from his first album Bloom. The Monument Records artist has performed for national audiences on Good Morning America, CBS Sunday Morning, Late Night with Seth Myers, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and The TODAY Show. He kicked off his headlining The Fancy Like Tour in January 2022.

“It’s not like I was going, ‘Man, I want to be famous. I want to be on the radio.’ I just loved music. I just loved to write, and it wasn’t like I sat there and talked about that passion. I just did it. I just wrote, and I sang, and that’s what I did naturally,” Hayes told Southern Living.

Hayes’ release “AA,” is everything fans have come to love about his music –  unapologetically honest lyrics, instantly catchy hooks, and stories inspired by his own life.

“AA” is one of 13 songs on Country Stuff: The Album, which also includes the fast-rising pop/country bop “U Gurl.” He partnered with “Fancy Like” producer, Joe Thibodeau, and co-wrote “AA” with multi-GRAMMY Award winner Shane McAnally.

You can catch him singing these songs live on his Duck Buck Tour in 2023.
